One thing that is noticed about Americans is that we are all different. Every one of us has our own unique characteristics. The size of the United States, the climatic areas we live in, and the ethnic mixture of people all contribute to what makes this country what it is today. However, there are a few characteristics that make up the "typical" American.

Most Americans tend to value their individuality. We think of ourselves equal to any other man or woman and we believe we are the makers of our destiny. Americans feel free to speak their minds and express their opinions openly about subjects in which they can reflect on. We tend to be direct in our communications, meaning that when we say yes we mean yes and when we say no we mean no. In a business setting Americans usually try to get right to the point of the subject they are talking about. Americans are very success oriented. We strive ahead to achieve all that we can in our personal and working lives. Whether we are rich or poor, most Americans do not feel that their success in life will be determined by what social class they were born into. Most Americans do not show too much difference or dominance to each other in public situations, however in professional settings this tends to be different.

When first meeting Americans we all seem friendly, usually this means we are pleased to meet you but in the end it may not turn into a glowing friendship. Most of the time we introduce ourselves to others by our first names and we call each other by their first names on an incident if we were to ever meet again, on a more professional level we use titles and last names. Usually when we speak with others we stand about an arms length apart and we never really have to touch one another, except for example, we shake hands when greeting someone.

We always seem to be in a hurry so we may not always have time to stop and shake hands with someone. To the majority of Americans, time is a precious commodity and we try to make the most of it. Also, we organize our schedules so that we can make the most of our day. By doing this, we seem to have so much to do and we are running from one thing to the next and not allowing ourselves to do and enjoy things that we like.

As Americans, we are all different. But in a few ways, we are all "united," so to speak. We all have our own unique individuality. Some characteristics we share with others and some we don't. Whether we are friendly on first acquaintances depends on who we are as a person and whether we are always in hurry or not depends on how much of a "busy body" we really are. But all in all, everyone has those few "typical" characteristics.

Varicella is a fancy name for a common disease, which most of us call chickenpox. Many people believe this is just a mild sickness that can't cause much harm, except for a few red and itchy bumps. However, chickenpox can actually be quite dangerous if not treated properly. In 15, there were a hundred deaths and between 4,000 to ,000 hospitalizations out of the 4 million people who had this disease. It is even scarier to know that most of varicella's victims are young children, ages one to four. So why can this disease be so deadly? If not treated in time, it can cause swelling of the brain, which is extremely fatal.

Chickenpox is an extremely contagious virus. It easily spreads from person to person through the air of an affected person's coughing or sneezing, or by direct contact. A person develops chickenpox 10 to 1 days after having contact with someone who is infected. In addition, the infected person is contagious 1- days before the rash appears and until all the blisters have formed scabs.

A person who has chickenpox will experience irritating symptoms such as a blister-like rash that usually occur on the face, scalp, or trunk. These reddish blisters can be exceedingly itchy and sometimes even painful. An infected person may also experience a high fever, dehydration, or headache. Eventually, the person may develop pneumonia and even swelling of the brain, which could lead to death. Fortunately, there are some successful treatments and preventions for varicella.

Chickenpox can now be prevented by vaccination, which everyone is encouraged to get. However, if a person does get the disease then there are many home treatments and doctor treatments available. For example, the infected person could use Calamine lotion or take Aveeno baths to relieve the itching. They could also take non-aspirin medicine, such as acetaminophen. In addition, a doctor could also prescribe Acyclovir, which is a medicine that works against the herpes virus. However, this medication is for people who are more likely to develop a serious stage of the disease. It is also important to know that a person who has chicken pox should go into treatment if the fever last for more than four days or goes above 10 degrees F.

Custom writing service can write essays on Varicela

Numerous people also believe that a person can only get chickenpox once, but that's not always true. Even though it is uncommon, it's still possible that someone can get this disease more than once.

In conclusion, varicella is a common infectious disease that nearly everyone gets. It is also very irritating, painful, and can even be deadly. Nevertheless, it can always be effectively prevented and treated.

In "Nobody's Fool" and "The Last of the Mohicans", the Hudson Valley's presence is very prominent, though the way it is offered is very different. In Richard Russo's "Nobody's Fool", change and the dysfunctional family are very visible.

The Hudson Valley is very present in both "Nobody's Fool" and "The Last of the Mohicans". In "Nobody's Fool", the Hudson Valley does not physically change but is representative of how many communities are in the Hudson Valley and the people that make them up. You have the local diner, where all the local gossip can be obtained. You have the local watering hole where even better gossip can be obtained, and you have the local businessman, who many may detest, but who employs many of the local towns people.

In "Last of the Mohicans", the Hudson Valley is very present due to the fact that many of the events actually took place there. Due to these events the Hudson Valley changes dramatically.

In the movie "Nobody's Fool", the dysfunctional family is quite prevalent. As is in most cases, a dysfunctional family is usually a result of a dysfunctional family. Sully's parents had a volatile relationship in which he witnessed a childhood of violence and drinking by his father. As a result this seemed to effect his own reactions as an adult, leaving his wife and son and therefore creating another dysfunctional family. As a result of this his own son is having problems with his family, not only does Peter and his wife separate, they separate their two children.

Write my Essay on Comparison of Nobody's Fool an Last of The Mohicans for me

As the storyline went on, you could witness the changing of Sully. Not only did he realize his mistakes as a parent or nonparent, he realized the damage that can be done to the children involved. A significant change and an attempt to break the chain of the dysfunctional family occurred when Sully was quite persistent in telling his son to call his wife at Christmas. Sully's own demons and apprehension of "the old brick house" seemed to ease as his relationship with his son grew.

Characters and settings can change as seen in these two wonderfully selected stories. Some changes can be more obvious than others, but that does not necessarily make them less important to the storyline.

PRESIDENT BUSH, meeting British Prime Minister Tony Blair at Camp David, Md., said coalition forces were "advancing day by day and predicted victory. But he would not say how long that might take.

"I can assure you there will be a day of reckoning for Iraq, and that day is drawing near," Bush told reporters. "However long it takes to win. However long it takes to achieve our objective. However long it takes."

Defending the administration's request for $75 billion for an emergency war spending package before the Senate and House Appropriations committees, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld also dampened expectations for a quick end to the conflict.

"We're still closer to the beginning than we are to the end" of the war, Rumsfeld said, adding that "the campaign could well grow more dangerous in coming days and weeks" as forces face Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard near Baghdad. He suggested that U.S. forces bearing down on Baghdad might lay siege to the capital.

Baghdad made it clear that it intended to prolong the war.

There is no contention that the dawn of the twentieth century was a time of great social, political, and economic upheaval. The Progressive Era, as the time period from 100 to 117 had been dubbed, saw many changes enacted to curb the marriage between business and politics, improve the social condition of workers, and curtail economic corruption within the trusts. With the power and influence of 'big business' increasing at an unprecedented rate, many middle class Americans began to feel disfranchised from what they considered to be the keynote of the American experience, democracy. However, what on the outset might appear to be as simple as a liberal reaction by the new middle class against the growing power of the business conglomerates, may not be so simple. The most striking dissension amongst historians of the post Progressive movement has been the analysis of whether the reforms represented a clear liberal reaction to growing inequities or rather a conservative effort to regulate government intervention in the economy as to thus allow the new economy to run smoothly and efficiently by eliminating competition. From our preliminary research, four main schools of thought are evident. The first histories of the time period came prior to World War II and are known as Progressive school of histories, as they were written during what can still be known as a progressive time. In the 150s a new breed of historical scholarship surfaced, known as neoconservatism. This new view stemmed from the challenge of democracy by communism in World War II. The organizational model interpretation attempts to explain the emergence of large corporations. Finally, the New Left viewpoint that arose in the late 70s put forth the notion that the Progressive movement was primarily an attempt to reduce competition to allow large corporations to function effectively.

In this paper it will be our attempt to analyze each of these viewpoints. Questions that we will attempt to answer include Was this movement liberal or conservative? To what do different historians point to when supporting either side? What accounts for the disparity in viewpoints and the times that each emerged? How does that relate to events contemporary to the respective historians? Which area of reform do the different interpretations emphasize more?

Head upon battlements

This image is quite ironic because this is what happens after Macbeth's death, when Macduff kills Macbeth he puts Macbeth's head upon his battlements.

ACT

Comic relief

Porter Here's a knocking indeed if a man were porter of hell gate, he should have old turning the key…………………………………………I had thought to have let in some of all professions that go primrose way to th' everlasting bonfire.

Starless sky

The starless sky symbolizes the evil planning of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth before the killing of Duncan and the others, this is also foreshadowing the murders because of the unpleasant sight of a starless sky, which seems as evil as the killings.

ACT

Metaphor

Macbeth Then comes my fit again, I had else been perfect, Whole as the marble, founded as the rock……………- but Banquo's safe?

Snake

The reason I chose this picture is because it represents the things threatening Macbeth. For example Banquo who might find out that Macbeth was Duncans murderer, so when Macbeth says "we have scotched the snake not killed it. He means that the snake could attack any moment.

Act 4

Soliloquy

Macbeth time, though anticipat'st my dread exploits…………………….come bring me where they are.

Cauldron

I chose the Cauldron because it shows the stereo typical look Shakespeare used for the witches.

This part is also significant to the story because the images coming from the cauldron show Macbeth's future, which is foreshadowing.

ACT 5

Hyperbole

Here's the smell of blood still. All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand. O, O, O!

In this scene, Lady Macbeth is sleep

Walking and she starts re-enacting her conversations

About the murders. Here she says that "All the

perfumes in Arabia will not sweeten this little hand."

Not only is it a hyperbole though, it is also ironic,

because when Macbeth said that all the waters in all

of Neptune's seas couldn't wash the blood off his

hand, Lady Macbeth said a little water would wash them

off. It shows how she wasn't as confident as she

seemed.

Scared messenger

One of the messengers comes to tell Macbeth the forest is moving,

But the reason the messenger is scared is not only because of the forest which is moving he is possibly more afraid of Macbeth because ( I think) most of the servants know Macbeth killed Duncan and because Macbeth is one of the most feared and strongest warriors.
