Known as the gateway drug marijuana has caused much debate about its medical use and harmfulness. Known as early as ,000 B.C, marijuana was used as a folk medicine by the inhabitants of central Asia and was also used by the Native Americans for peace pipes. Even though marijuana was known as early as ,000 B.C its wide spread use did not begin until between 160 and 170. Marijuana became, after alchol , the second most popular drug used. Marijuana has not been proven physically addicting and no withdrawl symptoms occurs when use is discontinued but a physcoligical dependance can occur and it can harm the lungs. Medical reasearch on marijuana has indicated that the drug is effective in alleviating some of the symptoms of glaucoma and treating the nausea induced by chemotherarpy. The legal issues dealing with marijuana first started, in 115, in the state of Utah. In Utah, after a pilgrimage to Mexico, the followers of the mormon religion returned to Utah with marijuana. The Mormon Church has always been opposed to the use of euphoriants, and in August of 115 the Church decreed the use of marijuana contrary to the Mormon religion. In October of 115, the state legislature met and enacted every religious prohibition as a criminal law and that is how the first criminal law in this countrys history against the use of marijuana came to be.

Marijuana , nationally, has been only ileagal since 17 as a part of laws passed during the new deal era. In the congress hearing to discuss marijuana Harry Anslinger, the newly named Commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics said, "Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death," wich was a totally false stament given on behalf of the Government of the united states of america. At the hearing there was not enough evidence proving marijuana non-leathal and with little opposition the laws against marijuana was passed. Until 151, most of the information on marijuana was false and had no medical backing . between 18 and 151 many acts and taxes were passed starting with the marijuana tax act, which made marijuana illegal in the united states of america. Many of the acts that were passed increassed the penalties for narcotic use, possesion, and sale.

Marijuana was not only used as a recreational drug it also used to treat patients who had undergone chemotherapy. Many marijuana researchers have found that the drug has useful properties and that contrary to Henry Anslinger the drug was not leathal, did not cause insanity, and criminality in fact the drug aided glaucoma patients, helped cancer patients with the nauesa acocaited with chemotherapy, and caused passivity in its users. In some states the used of marijuana for medicine has been made legal even though marijuana is still ileagal nationally.

Today is my birthday, October twenty-third. I have just turned twenty-six and I'm sitting on a park bench in New York relaxing. I was deep in thought about life and suddenly I herd someone behind me say, "Do you mind if I sit there?" I looked at the person that asked the question and I noticed he was very familiar. I couldn't quite figure out who he was. I let him sit down to see what he wanted.

He sat down and didn't say anything, I was wondering if he was going to say anything when he said, "Hi Jordan, or do you prefer HackMasterJ?" At that moment I was thinking holly crap! How does this stranger know I'm HackMasterJ? You see at daytime I'm an employee at Microsoft but at night I'm the most feared hacker in the world. My hacking skills have got me into the CIA and the FBI's computer and a few major companies. The idea that some one knew who I really was was very bad. I instantly asked how he knew this and he replied that he used to school with me in Dayton, Oregon.

I finally remembered why he was so familial; he was one of my old school buddies. He was another Jordan, his name was Jordan Blanchard, I remembered that he was in my strut class and he also stole two of my computers on school field trips. I asked him what he wanted with me and he said, "I want to be an expert hacker like you." I consider this for awhile and then I decided to help him learn because he was an old friend of mine.

Its been years since I agreed to help Jordan and he is almost as good as me. Tonight we are planning a big hack into the FBI's computers. Since tonight was going to be a big night I invited Jordan to dinner. When we where there I asked him, "You know Jordan you never did tell me why you wanted to be a hacker, so why do you?"

Write your A Wintertime Tale: The Hack-Masters research paper

He told me, "for a new hobby I guess." We ate our food and then when to my home so we could start hacking into the FBI's computers.

We got to my house and started hacking into the FBI's computer systems. They had very advanced protection and Jordan and I where having a hard time getting past it. We almost hacked it when Jordan pulled a gun and pointed it at my head. He yelled, "Get your hands on your head!" I did as he instructed as I was freaking out because I didn't know why he was doing this. He pulled a walkie-talkie out of his pocket and said in to it, "Team three get in here!" all of a sudden a group of men busted down the door and all of them pointed some guns at me.

I got arrested for unlawful access to computer systems. Jordan was the one that got me busted. He turned out to be an undercover agent for the FBI. I now have 14 years of prison for hacking in to over 00 computers in the past six years.

Argument of Design

David Hume

Intro to Philosophy

Write my Essay on Argument of Design for me

Katy Mason

The argument of design is one of the "proofs" for the existence of God. In its basic form, this argument infers from intelligent order and created beauty of the universe that there is an intelligent Designer and Creator of the universe. What are Hume's 'devastating' arguments? In reality he does not really present arguments against the design argument but instead takes some of the key points to a logical conclusion to make them acceptable to the Christian believer.

Hume's presentation of the design argument is spoken by Cleanthes in Part II of the dialogues

The curious adapting of means to ends, throughout all nature, resembles exactly, through it much exceeds, the production of human contrivance, or human design, thought, wisdom and intelligence, since therefore the effects resemble each other, we are led to infer, by all the rules of analogy, that the causes also resemble; and that the Author of Nature is somewhat similar to the mind of man; though possessed of much larger faculties, proportioned to the grandeur of the work, which he has executed.

He argues that there is resemblance between the world and machines. The "rules of analogy" enable Cleanthes to infer that since the effects resemble each other (the world and machines) so the causes also resemble each other. The cause of a machine derives from a human mind and this cause resembles the cause of the world. It is crucial to note that the design argument moves from empiricist procedures to the use of analogical inference. It is later which enables Cleanthes to progress to his conclusion which "proves at once the existence of Diety and his similarity to human mind and intelligence."

Philo's restatement of the design argument Philo is often portrayed as a skeptical of the design argument. However, in order to substantiate his criticisms he restates the argument in order to exemplify his understanding of the argument. However, Philo's restatement incorporates some points which he subsequently uses as major criticisms of the design argument. For example, the skepticism of Philo is exemplified by his view that nothing "could be esteemed impossible or implying a contradiction". In Particular, "order; arrangement, or the final cause is not, of itself, any proof of design; but only so far as it has been experienced to proceed from that principle. For aught we know a priori, matter may contain the source or spring of order originally, within itself..." Philo's account pushes the empiricist method to the issue of experience of the mind of God in the design of the world and also provides an alternative model for the explanation of order in the world which is naturalistic rather than theological (i.e. order arising from matter rather than God).

Please note that this sample paper on Argument of Design is for your review only. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on Argument of Design, we are here to assist you. American Beauty tells the story of one mans search for happiness. The film introduces the audience to Lester Burnham, an ordinary- looking married man and father in his forties. Lester is in a loveless marriage. Lesters wife, Carolyn, is so wrapped-up in her real estate career that Lester often claims that Carolyn doesnt even acknowledge him. Furthermore, Lesters daughter, Jane, is completely distant, often claiming how pathetic she thinks her father is. Moreover, Lester has dedicated fourteen years to his occupation, and suddenly, he is in danger of losing his job due to downsizing. All of these factors dramatically effect Lester and culminate into feelings of desperation and vulnerability for him. Lester is therefore in search of an escape and a rebirth. He is seeking the slightest possibility of happiness. Throughout the story Lester is consistently reminiscing on his past; wishing he could have it back. In the beginning portions of the story, Lester, as the narrator, states that it is never too late to regain your past. The catalyst to this frame of thought is Janes friend, Angela. Lester feels excited by the thought that a teen-age girl thinks he is hot. Lester overhears Angela state that she would have sex with him if Lester would start working-out and build-up his body. This drives Lester to change himself completely. Lester, in desperate search of happiness , finds an escape in Angela. Much like a hormone-driven teenage boy, Lester thinks that if he can score with a bombshell like Angela, then he will be reborn. Lesters mission for happiness and escape is further perpetuated by his eighteen year old neighbor, Ricky. In Ricky, Lester sees his model for rebirth. Lester calls Ricky his hero and is in awe of Rickys confidence. Lester, then begins a transformation back to his stereotypical understanding of what a teenager is. Lester begins to work-out, smoke pot, and drink beer. Much like a teen, he rebels against responsibility by quitting his job and; therefore, bypassing his duties as a provider to his daughter and wife. Furthermore, Lester spontaneously, trades in his Mercedes automobile for a 170s cherry-red Trans Am sports car. In addition, Lester pursues a job with the least amount of responsibility. He finds that job in a fast food restaurant. All of these actions are deemed necessary to Lester because this is the way to escape and thus achieving happiness. The first scene where the audience is introduced to Lesters transformation process is when he first spots Angela. Lester and Carolyn decided to come and support Jane at a school basketball game where she is to perform a dance at half-time. This scene is significant because it shows how Angelas sexuality motivated Lester to rebel against who he is. Furthermore, this scene exemplifies Lesters characteristics as a hormone-crazed male in search of sex. This frame of thought is associated more with teens than with men in their forties.

I think tigers are the most amazing species of cats. Tigers are the largest cat of the cat family. I admire tigers for their strength and beauty. Wild tigers are found in Asia. Before the 1800's, many tigers roamed through the southern part of Asia. Now there are only a few left in some Asian countries. The important things that a tiger needs are shade, food, and water.

The average adult male tiger weighs up to 40 pounds and are feet long, including a - foot tail. The average adult female tiger weighs up to 00 pounds and are 8 feet long. The fur of a tiger can be from brownish- yellow to orange-red. All tigers are marked with black stripes. The throat, belly, and inside the legs has white fur. The White tiger has an all-white fur coat with either chocolate- brown or black stripes. These tigers are distinctive because their eyes are blue and all other tiger's eyes are yellow. White tigers are rare in the wild. More than 100 of them live in zoos. If tigers mate with lions and they produce an offspring, the offspring would be called ligers and tigons.

Adult tigers usually live on their own, not because they are unfriendly but they like roaming alone. Adult males may claim their territory from 10 to 0 square miles. The male tigers claim their territory by marking trees with their scent or urine. This tells other tigers the territory is occupied. A tiger's roar can be heard for up to miles. A female tiger can bear her first cubs at age 1/ to 4 years old. She holds the cubs for 1/ months and then gives birth from 1 to 6 cubs. Tiger cubs are helpless and can weigh up to to pounds. Plus they are really playful. Tiger cub's lives depend on its mother for food until they are 1 years old. At 1 year old they are still not able to kill large animals but they are able to kill smaller animals. When the cubs are about years old they become fully independent. Female cubs settle down in a close by territory near their mother. Male cubs tend to settle away from its mother. If fortunate, tigers can live up to 0 years old.

If in the earlier days people didn't reduce the number of tigers by killing them, there would be lots more tigers in the world. Scientists have recognized 8 different varieties of tigers. Of the 8 varieties, have become extinct, and other's are seriously endangered. Several countries in the world, like India and Nepal, protect tigers in nature reserves. In zoos, it is easier to breed and raise tigers. Most of the zoo visitors come to see the tiger cubs. Adult tigers are sometimes trained to become circus performers.

High school students can be divided into two major categories those that want to learn and those that portray their student life as nothing but a grand social event. It is very easy to place a student in one of these categories based on certain characteristics that he or she displays.

Most students engage in a sport at some time or the other in their high school life. However, those students who want to learn take this as an opportunity to relax from their rigorous academic work while those who are at school to socialize make this their first priority. This is one of the main differences between the two types of students. The students who come to socialize try to get by in order to participate in a sport of their choice whereas the students who want to learn succeed because they have a desire to succeed and they participate in extra-cirricular activities.

A second factor which differentiates these two types of students is their participation in community service based organizations and taking a role in student body organizations such as student government. Students who want to learn try to have a well-rounded high school life. Thus they try to have an active part in organizations that give back to the community and usually have approximately 100 hours of volunteer hours at the end of high school; in addition this boosts their college resumes. Whereas students who show no interest in academic work display absolutely no interest in volunteering some of their time to give back to the community.

The ultimate factor that clearly separates these two types of students is the courses they take and the grades they work to attain in those courses. Students who want to learn take challenging courses such as Advanced Placement, Honors, International Baccalaureate, or Dual Enrollment in the courses required for graduation and their selected electives. They not only take the challenging courses but they earn good grades in these courses. On the other hand, students who just attend school to socialize take just the regular courses that are required for graduation and they struggle to pass those courses. In addition, they usually do not have all the credits to graduate within fours years of the regular class time in high school and some therefore have to take summer school or spend more than four years to complete the curriculum.

Custom writing service can write essays on Categorical

In summary, the attitude and goals of high school students is what separates them into two groups; those that want to learn and those that couldn't care less. Students who want to learn pursue challenging courses and take an active role in extra-cirricular activities. On the other hand, students who come to socialize just take all regular courses and struggle to pass them, rarely participate in clubs and sometimes may put participation in a sport high on their list of priorities.

Comparing two types of dreams just sounds like a question. Why pick something like this to write about? How many types of dreams are there? There are many types of dreams; Ordinary, Lucid, Telepathic, Premonitory, and Nightmares. I am taking all these types of dreams and comparing them to one type of dream, "The Wish Dream".

A wish dream may be a thought about a car that you always wanted, or a sports career that you been thinking about since the age of 8. I personally get these kinds of dreams a lot. I happen to find my self thinking about winning a lottery and buying all types of things with it. Sometimes I think about playing basketball for an NBA team, and I daze off. Dazing is a good similarity of a night and wish dream. This is where lucid dreams come in. Before you fall asleep in your bed sometimes you think about materials. Once you start sleeping your mind takes these materials into consideration and creates a dream that you can control.

The rock cycle has only three types of rocks, igneous rock, sedimentary rock and metamorphic rock. Each of these rocks can form at the expense of the other. Igneous rocks are created when molten material such as magma (within the earth) or lava (on the surface) cools and hardens. The hot material crystallizes into different materials. The properties and sizes of the various crystals depend on the magmas composition and its rate of cooling. Examples of Igneous rock are Granite, Obsidian, Basalt, Pumice, Andesite, Diorite and Rhyolite. Sedimentary rocks are made up of sediments eroded from igneous rock, metaphoric rock, other sedimentary rocks, and even the remains of dead plants and animals. These materials are deposited in layers, or strata, and then are squeezed and compressed into rock. Most fossils are found in sedimentary rocks. Examples of these are Sandstone, Shale, Conglomerate, Limestone, Chert, Coal and Gypsum. Metamorphic rocks are produced when sedimentary or heat and/or pressure transform igneous rocks. The word "metamorphic" comes from the Greek language, which means, "to change form." Examples of these are Marble, Slate, Quartzite, Schist and Gneiss.

The rock cycle is somewhat like a gigantic machine, and it never stops. The rock cycle works begins when liquid molten rock material solidifies either at or below the surface of the earth to form igneous rocks. Uplifting occurs forming mountains made of

rock. The exposure of weathering and erosion at the earth's surface breaks them down into smaller grains producing soil. The grains (soil) transported by wind, water and gravity eventually deposited as sediments. This process is referred to as erosion. The sediments are deposited in layers and become compacted and cemented forming sedimentary rocks.

Variation in temperature, pressure and/or the chemistry of the rock can cause chemical and/or physical changes in igneous and sedimentary rocks to form metamorphic rocks. When exposed to higher temperatures, metamorphic rocks may be partially melted resulting in the creation once again of igneous rocks starting the cycle all over again.

If someone looks at the rock cycle in terms of plate tectonics, igneous rocks form on the sea floor as spreading ridges. As the rocks cool, and more magma comes from below, the plate is forced away from the spreading ridge, and requires a sediment cover. As the oceanic plate travels deeper, high temperature conditions cause partial melting of the crystal slab. When this happens the surrounding country rock is metamorphosed at high temperature conditions by the contact. The molten material is either driven to the surface as volcanic eruptions, or crystallizes to form plutonic igneous rock. This is how the continuous rock cycle works.

Thus, if you follow my advice you will bound to be booted out of your apartment for eternity.

The first step, irritating your property owner by being as ignorant and inconsiderable as possible. Do the things that you were told never to do. When the landlord comes around at the beginning of every month to collect the rent for the previous month simply ignore him or her and let the bills accumulate and pill up long past due. Annoy your neighbors in every possible way. Take no notice of them as if they did not exist and never show respect to your elders by slamming doors in their faces and cut in front of them in line. Make sure they all file formal complaints about you to your landlord.

The second step, be brave and do the thins you would never do to your own apartment, otherwise. Be wild and have fun at deteriorating and destroying the appearance and interior of the apartment. Block all the toilets and drains with food scraps and garbage, then to make matters worse attempt to flush them down. Be sure to let the live sewage overflow and flood the whole apartment complex. This will be sure to cause thousands of dollars worth of damage, notify the landlord, and have him or her hire a plumber to unplug and fix the blockage. Afterwards, deny that you had anything to do with the incident and blame it all on the builders of the apartment. Refuse to pay the arising costs for labor and parts that were required to fix the drainage system up.

The third step, show no respect for anyone you encounter in the apartment complex. Invite countless friends over to party from dusk to dawn day after day, leaving beer bottles, cans, wrappers, garbage, and refuse everywhere. Who said that pranks have to be funny and harmless? Together with your group of friends, encase your landlord's door with a block of solid quick drying concrete and graffiti meaningless scrawls all over it.

Every time a person smokes a cigarette they take five minutes off of their life. Of

any drug in the world, tobacco is the most dangerous. It causes thousands of deaths each

year including 00,000 deaths in the United States, 50,000 deaths in Britain, and 16,000

deaths in Australia (Stepney 5). Tobacco may cause various types of cancer, heart

disease, and breathing problems. Smoking not only affects the smoker but puts everyone

around the smoker in danger from secondhand smoke, which has a much higher

concentration of tar, nicotine, and all the other gases that make up tobacco smoke (Klag

8). Therefore, smoking in public should not be allowed because it is very harmful to

the smoker and the nonsmoker.

Each year 160,000 men and 140,000 women die from smoke-related illnessess.

For many of these people, smoking is just a hobbie or a trend, but most smokers dont

realize exactly how deadly cigarettes can be. They contain forty-three known cancer

causing chemicals, all of which can be deadly (Larson 17). One of the main chemicals

in cigarettes is carbon monoxide (CO). CO takes oxygen from red blood cells, which

leaves the tissues without oxygen, also ( Larson 17). CO is also the poisonous gas found

in car exhaust fumes. Cigarettes also contain an addictive drug known as nicotine.

Nicotine acts on [the] adrenal glands, causing them to secrete hormones that temporarily

increase blood pressure and heart rate.. (Larson 18). After a few months or years,

smokers may come to depend on nicotine and may experience many effects on the brain

and the body. Cigarettes contain many other cancer causing chemicals including

ammonia, which is found in toilet cleaners, DDT, which is a pesticide that has been

banned in farming, and cadmium, which is found in car batteries (Stepney 14). All of

these are poisonous and may cause various types of cancer and diseases.

Many people know that smoking may lead to various types of cancer. In fact,

cigarette smoke accounts for the vast majority of deaths from lung cancer... (Larson

17). The risk of cancer becomes greater every time a person smokes a cigarette. Lung

cancer begins when tar droplets are breathed in and land in the large tubes that take air in

to the lungs. The tar irritates the linig of the air passages and chemicals in the tar

damage the cells in the lining. For a while, the damage is repaired by the body, but

eventually the damage can no longer be repaired. After one cell becomes cancerous, it

begins to multiply. This then causes a growth, or tumor to develop and spread

throughout the lungs and the entire body. If people stopped smoknig then nine of the ten

who used to smoke and who would have died from lung cancer wouldnt even get the

disease.

Abu Nidal born Sabrial-Banna along with his affluent family was forced to flee the Arab city of Jaffa during the 148 war. During the 160s as a laborer in Saudi Arabia, he became heavily interested in politics. He joined Yassar Arafat's Fatah group, also known as the backbone of P.L.O. (Palestine Liberation Organization) where he advanced quickly in ranks.

In 174 he broke alliances with Arafat, because Arafat considered diplomacy over violence. He formed the Abu Nidal Organization (known as Fatah Revolutionary Council). His group was responsible, or said to be responsible for planting a bomb on a TWA plane from Athens to Rome, killing 88 passengers and crewmembers. They masterminded attacks on a Jewish school in Antwerp, synagogues in Vienna, Istanbul, and a Greek tourist ship. His group, who ambushed El Al ticket counters at Rome And Vienna, also killed fourteen bystanders in December 185.

In Abu Nidal's destructive quest to permanently harm and dismantle Israel, his declared enemy, he succeeded in destabilizing and stigmatizing the Palestinians. P.L.O. in the mid 170s sentenced him to death for killing six of its most moderate diplomats, plotting to kill Arafat between 178-18, and attempting assassination of Israel's ambassador to Britain in 18, which was attributed to his group. Israel then took advantage of this opportunity to invade Lebanon. Arafat's headquarters setup and they kicked the P.L.O. out.

Allegiances were switched with ease, he had no consistent belief system and he rarely emerged from the turbid underworld of international crime.

Considering Abu Nidal's legend relied as much on rumor as his vicious acts of violence. One has to research from the beginning of his life, take it in, installment to relinquish the facts from fiction. Likewise, his death, whether murder or suicide is considered very frivolous. Is he really dead? If he is did he commit suicide? Did Iraqis kill him? How could he shoot himself so many times? Was he a spy, against the Arab nation? Will history ever be able to reveal the facts from fiction?

The Love Song of Alfred J. Prufrock

(Isolation)

T. S. Eliot writes the poem as Prufrock is aging, facing death and society has changed. Prufrock used to be a more social person but because of his age and facing death popularity and being social is not important anymore. He has chosen to isolate himself from society. Prufrock sees through artificial images that people portray and does not care to be associated with them. Prufrock describes the settings as a still evening in October. He compares the sky to a patient etherized upon a table implying calm but eerie. Prufrock also gives human characteristics to the yellow fog.

As in The Guest society appears to be against him. Prufrock describes how trendy things are rising in society and values are declining. Prufrock says that women come and go speaking of Michelangelo only wanting to hear themselves speak of something trendy. If society or social issues were a trend they would be interested.

Help with essay on The Love song of alfred j. prufrock

The part I like most is the women talking of Michelangelo are also the same women that he doesn't want to see his thinning hair. Prufrock feels above these women and doesn't care what they think but he has his own insecurities about his appearance. It seems as if Eliot is expressing the fact that no matter how a person judges others their own appearance is still a concern. Even though Prufrock is old and soon to face death he is still concerned with his appearance and thinning hair.

The part of the poem I disliked most was it was kind of depressing. He speaks of time and death. Prufrock could even be feeling a little sorry for himself. This poem could have several different meanings and was difficult to know what Eliot was really trying to get across. Time is repeated throughout the poem. It appears to be a reminder that not only is Prufrock aging, so are others. Prufrock is not real positive, he is wondering if he should waste time on daily conversation and activities or save time for things more important. It's too bad that he would see conversation and daily activities as a waste of time. Prufrock speaks of death toward the end of the poem as if he is looking foreword to dying. Prufrock compares the after life with the sea.

Many aspects of this poem can be seen in everyday life. Aging and death is something everyone will eventually experience if life allows it, but it doesn't have to be so isolated or socially ill. Another point I think Prufrock is trying to make is material things have less meaning when our life is near end than things we have done in our lives.

The book Night by Elie Wiesel has many themes to it. The one that I'm choosing is the discrimination of man kind and how prejudice people can be.

The Holocaust is one of the worst case scenarios that showed cruelty on behave of mankind. Elie said, "A prolonged whistle split the air. The wheels began to grind. We were on our way." I could not imagine how frightened he was when the Nazis were relocating he and his family. At this point, there was nothing Elie, his family, and any other Jews could do. They were on their way to concentration camps whether they wanted to or not. In my opinion, the Nazis were the most inhumane group of people in the world. They didn't think about their actions and the other people's feelings. All they thought about was getting rid of Jews. No humans should have had to gone through this ordeal. How cruel can people get?

Before all of this, Elie was a very committed Jewish boy. He was very religious and studied the kaballa which was unusual for a boy to be studying. After going through the concentration camps, seeing his fellow Jews get tortured and killed, and being tortured himself, he started to lose faith in GOD. "For the first time, I felt a revolt rise up in me. Why should I bless His name? The Eternal, Lord of the Universe, the All-Powered and Terrible, was silent. What had I to thank him?" This part of the book is when the Nazis were forcing Elie and some other Jews to go into the crematory. Elie questions why he should believe in the Lord after all he has gone through. He asks why should he pray and be thankful for things when he is going through so much pain. This is what cruelty does. It changes your perspectives in life and sometimes, like in this case, it questions some of the important aspects in your life like faith.

In one of the parts of this book, Elie describes how he has to see his father get burned right in front of him. After going through this terrible loss, how will he ever recover? Although he has a very hard time, he forces himself to struggle and survive for his life. This is a very hard task for him, but fortunately, he gets through it.... all because of his father.

"My mind was invaded suddenly by this realization there was no more reason to live, no more reason to struggle." This is what he thought after he saw his father huddled near him wrapped up in his blanket and not moving. Even though Elie disobeyed his father at times before, he loved him very much. Their relationship grew during their time in the concentration camps. They both realized how they might not ever see each other again and they didn't take granted of any of the time they had left with each other.

Cycles of "boom" and "bust" will remain with society forever. A modern day example is the hit success of the T.V. show Survivor. The new, unique show comes out and everyone loves it. So, all the major companies create their own new Survivor show. The reality TV show market goes "boom." Then the market becomes saturated with reality shows. Nobody is interested anymore and the whole thing goes "bust." This is much like what happened with three major industries on the western frontier.

With the flood of western expansion and the bestowment of 160 acres of land, almost every settler became interested in farming. Farming was a way to sustain your family and make a little money on the side. Farmers of the day, however, were plagued by many failures. They did not understand how to re-fertilize the land, and over time their land became stale and arid. They could not grow crops to feed their families.

Discovery of gold in the west and a few lucky individuals becoming filthy rich very quickly prompted a floor of settlers to venture west. Once thousands of hopeful gold diggers arrived, they realized there was a very slim chance they were going to become rich very quickly. The mines were overcrowded and ruled with strict regulations because almost everyone would work for almost free. The gold industry busted on everyone and destroyed the dreams of those unfortunate travelers who had left behind their jobs and families in search of riches. They are all forced to return home much as they arrived, in poverty.

The cattle industry was once an industry of the middle-class rancher. But, with the advent of barbed wire and the train systems, everyone became interested in cattle ranching. This rush of cattle flooded the market with cheap beef. The only ones able to stay afloat were the big business owners of cattle. The large businesses were able to hold out as the industry fell; eventually they recovered as many of their competitors were forced out of the market. The little man was once again not able to fulfill his get rich quick fantasies.

Custom writing service can write essays on Boom Bust cycles

Much like today, few people are able to benefit from the boom-bust cycles of society. The average western settler did not become rich or fulfill his every fantasy by taking advantage of these booms. More often, he returned home in poverty and continued his normal life. Settlers learned that they could not depend on the wavering cycles of the economy to guide them to reaches. They realized that they must forged their own path and create for themselves a new life filled with the dreams of wealth that they wanted. The boom-bust cycles helped for the average American to realize that they are the only ones who can make their dreams come true.

Please note that this sample paper on Boom Bust cycles is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. The main character in this book is Buck. He reminds me of a friend of a friend of mine named Ryan. They are both strong, courageous, smart and a good friend.

A part in he book I found unrealistic was near the end when buck got revenge by killing the Yeehats. How could one dog scare them all away? There is no way that a dozen people would run from one dog.

I think that the relationship between Buck and John Thortan is interesting because even after all the things they have gone through, saving each other's lives, Buck is still just a dog. The saying "Mans best friend" definitely applies.

The part in this book that reminds me of my life is when won the bet for John Thortan by pulling one hundred and fifty pounds. This reminds me of my friends. We rely on each other for help and we always pull through and get out of whatever we got ourselves into.

Buy cheap Call of the Wild and Count of Monte cristo summer reading term paper

If I were Buck at the end of the book, I would feel happy. Having gotten revenge for John Thortan, earning respect in a wolf pack, and finding my place in the wilderness.

The main character in this book, Edmond Dantès, reminds me of my friend Brian. They are both sneaky, smart, tough and in the end they get what they want.

I think the relationship between Edmond and Abb Faria, The prisoner of Château D'If, is interesting because of their situation. When they first met Edmond was so lonely he would have been happy for any company no matter what the did or who they were. However as the book progressed you find that Abb is willing to free Edmond from his cell in exchange for his help. During the time they spend together Edmond learns from Abb and they develop a father-son relationship.

I find this whole book to be realistic. I think it is all possible and could have happened. The main character, Edmond, seemed to have everything planned out. From when he escaped from prison to when he got his revenge on all the people who ruined his life.

A situation in this book that reminds me of my life is when Edmond was falsely accused of a crime he did not commit. Sine I am the only boy of four children I often find that my sisters are all against me, and many times I am blamed for things I didn't do.

If I were Edmond at the end of the book, I would feel satisfied knowing that I defeated many powerful enemies without them knowing who I really was.

IVF (In vitro fertilisation) is an assisted reproductive technology in a process by which egg and sperm are fertilized outside the body and then placed in a woman's uterus after fertilisation. It usually involves the removal of eggs from the woman's ovary and the collection of sperm from a male. The embryo, which results from fertilisation in the laboratory, is transferred to the woman's uterus about two to five days later. At this stage, long before any organs have formed, it is still visible to the naked eye and consists of only a few cells.

IVF has had huge publicity and has gained a false reputation as the solution for infertility. In practise, it is one of the most demanding of all procedures in reproductive medicine and is the least successful compared to some alternatives. Strictly speaking, IVF is not even a "treatment" for infertility as it does not alter the underlaying cause of infertility. It is simply an attempt to help someone who is infertile to have a baby, the attempt can be repeated several times, but the basic cause of infertility remains. Although IVF does not change the underlaying cause of fertility, it is best where possible to seek therapy which may improve the chances of becoming pregnant naturally. But there is no doubt that IVF has revolutionized the treatment of infertile people and increased our knowledge about many aspects of what initially causes infertility.

In vitro fertilisation means literally "fertilisation in glassware" (from the Latin word vitrum), even though glassware is hardly ever used in IVF clinics because of the need for absolute cleanliness and the impossibility of washing glass thoroughly enough. For this reason, doctors prefer to use disposable containers and equipment which are used once and then thrown away.

IVF is often confused with artificial insemination (AI) which is completely different. Artificial insemination refers to conception that does not take place by sexual intercourse. It involves a doctor or nurse placing sperm directly into a woman's vagina or uterus with a syringe or some other artificial method; fertilisation then occurs in the woman's fallopian tube in the natural way.

Cheap Custom Essays on IVF

It is important to realise that IVF is not always the ideal treatment for most infertility patients and certainly it should not be the first option to be considered. More that half the women referred to IVF clinics could be better treated by alternatives. Too frequently no systematic assessment of the medical condition of the patient is made in the early stages. There is a real need for referring GP's to make better judgements as to wether a patient would most benefit from IVF treatment or consider other alternatives. Often patients themselves push for IVF when there may be a more suitable, possibly cheaper, treatment.

Stars

A star is a luminous globe of gas consisting of mainly hydrogen and helium which produces its own heat by nuclear reaction, stars shine for many billions of years although they have been found to have changed in appearance and size. We can see stars from earth because they are bright and glowing, it is a luminous globe of gas, the temperature rises as dust grains radiate much of the heat, but as it grows denser less of the heat generated can escape and it warms up. When the star is about 10 million degrees Celsius the temperature is very hot, high enough for a nuclear reaction to begin, vast amounts of energy are released, contraction stops and the star shines.

Constellations

As seen from the Earth, all the historic planets are conspicuous naked-eye objects moving in looped paths against the stellar background. The size of these loops, which are caused by the Earths own motion round the Sun, are inversely proportional to the planets distance from the Earth. The constellations are totally imaginary things that poets, farmers and astronomers have made up over the past 6,000 years (and probably even more!). The real purpose for the constellations is to help us tell which stars are which, nothing more. On a really dark night, you can see about 1000 to 1500 stars. Trying to tell which is which is hard. The constellations help by breaking up the sky into more manageable bits. Around the world, farmers know that for most crops, you plant in the spring and harvest in the fall. But in some regions, there is not much differentiation between the seasons. Since different constellations are visible at different times of the year, you can use them to tell what month it is. For example, Scorpius is only visible in the northern hemispheres evening sky in the summer. Some historians suspect that many of the myths associated with the constellations were invented to help the farmers remember them. When they saw certain constellations, they would know it was time to begin the planting or the reaping. The nearest star, Proxima Centurai (part of the Alpha Centurai group) is just over four light years away. The diameter of the orbit of this comet cloud would be about 00,000 Astronomical Units, or two and a half light years.

Day and Night

The earth spins on its axis every 4 hours, the side of the earth nearest to the sun is lit up by the suns light so this side is having daytime, the other side is in darkness so this side is having night time. A day lasts for 1 hours and a night for 1 hours so altogether 4 hours make up day and night. In June and the summer months the days are long and the nights are short whereas in December and the winter months the days are short and the nights long.

Can't you just see the big, gawky know nothing she's going to be?"

(Paragraph 10) Jenny is upset that her mother does not value her learning

achievements in school. However, Jenny encourages herself by

remembering that "She was farther on in school than any other girls her

age." (Paragraph 11) Her intelligence helps her to see herself as a

valuable person by gaining the self-confidence that her mother has

undermined. It is also through her naivety that she accepts her

predicament in a positive way.

Jenny's innocence allows her to see the bright side of her situation.

Although her circumstances do not let her go to the circus, she does not

put blame upon her parents, but rather herself for causing a quarrel

between her mother and father. "A beautiful poster a band and half an

elephant- and she felt exasperated and guilty that there should be a

quarrel about it." (Paragraph ) Jenny is so pure that she forgets the

unpleasant occurrences and criticizes herself for any bad things that

others have done to her. Furthermore, this optimism leads her to achieve

her dream, whether real or unreal.

Jenny is optimistic and uses her imagination to keep her dream

alive. When reality does not allow her go to the circus, she tries to

accomplish her hope instead of just throwing it away. " The circus went

on. All night long she wore her purple tights and went riding Billie round

and round the pasture in them." (Paragraph 4) Jenny uses her

imagination to create her own circus by in an attempt to hold on to her

dream toward realization.

Naivety, intelligence, and optimism are characteristics which help

Jenny to rise above the grim reality of her life on the farm. Her intelligence helps her to remain confident even when her mother

discourages her by saying she will amount to nothing. Against all odds,

she naively believes in making her dream come true. She keeps her

dream alive by remaining optimistic. Jenny has a cheerful disposition

which together with her intelligence and naivety allows her to respond

positively lairdship and disappointment

After going through all the Sonnets, I liked Sonnet 10 the most.

To be frank enough, I found Sonnet 10 a very odd loving poem. Rather than praising his lover, Shakespeare at first seems to be insulting her. According to him, her eyes do not sparkle like the sun, her skin is grayish-brown rather than white, her lips arent very red, her cheeks dont have much color, her hair looks like wires, her breath doesnt smell very good and that the sound of her voice certainly isnt as nice to listen to as music. He also points out that she doesnt float like a goddess; rather she walks on the ground like everyone else but at the end, he tries to illustrate that his love for her remains undiminished.

It is always observed that while writing a love poem, most of the poets tend to idealize and romanticize the one they love. They use all sort of comparisons to show how beautiful or handsome he/she is. But these comparisons aren't realistic. Even if someone really believes that the lover has sparkling eyes, snow-white skin, a charmingly musical voice, . . . etc., these beliefs have nothing to do with love. In turn these seem to be more closely related to blind infatuation. In Sonnet 10, Shakespeare tries to sum up the above-mentioned points in the last two lines wherein he states that the one he loves is as rare as, and therefore as precious as, any of those lovers who have been unrealistically described with false comparisons. He realizes that the one he loves is not perfect but his love for her remains undiminished.

The poem is in the English sonnet form. It contains fourteen lines wherein the first twelve lines are divided into three 4-line quatrains & the last two lines are combined to form a couplet in order to sum up the main theme of the poem. Each line in the Sonnet also consists of 10 Syllables. For Example - My/ mis/ tress/ eyes/ are/ no/ thing/ like/ the/ sun/)& the lines also form an iambic pentametre. The poem also has a rhyming scheme of ABAB CDCD EFEF GG.

Additionally, among all other sonnets, Sonnet 10 consists of mixtures of similes and metaphors used throughout. The entire sonnet forms a series of comparisons. Shakespeare uses metaphor and similes to compare the features of his love to beautiful things they are not like. For Example - In Line 1, he uses a simile to compare the mistress eyes to being Nothing like the sun, in line , he uses a metaphor to illustrate how pale her lips are compared to a coral and so on.

Finally, I can only say that Shakespeare has presented us, a vivid impression of a woman who is foolishly captivated with her relatively poor appearance and the reaction of her love.

Hence due to these reasons, I liked Sonnet 10 the most.

The firm gives training and development as and when it is required. Training is not automatically given and the staff may need to request it when a new client is taken on. A more modern approach being used is Yearly assessment. Some training is also given by team leaders who also give presentations on this. The firm has a specific training department and most of employees' training is done here. This is then hired out to clients as a separate profit-making venture when internal training is not being done. The firm believes development training lacks profit-making opportunities and deem them as unnecessary. The firm practices induction to a point, an induction document is produced and handed out to new employees who are then placed into the office and taught basic needs by existing workers. External courses such as languages are given when seem necessary.

There are positive and negative points about the firm's methods of training and development. With induction, this is when an employee should be introduced to the company, showing them the surroundings and people they will work with. The firm only gives a written document and so may not provide the employee with all the information they need for a successful induction. By showing the employee around, they will feel more relaxed. The firm's centralised training facility has resulted in the saving of lots of money as there is no travelling around to lots of different locations and money is made from hiring it out to clients. The benefits of external courses e.g. languages give workers the chance to enhance their skills. However these courses can prove very costly as accommodation is often needed as well as travel expenses and so the firm has to decide whether these courses are essential or not. These courses are very beneficial for the company and individual. By investing in an employee the firm will develop loyalty which will push down costs in re-recruiting as the employee will want to stay with the firm.

Training and development is important if a company wants to run efficiently and be competitive. It benefits the company and the workers, employees need to develop their skills to increase job satisfaction which produce higher standard work being a bigger asset to a business.

The firm I am investigating is an I.T. firm which is an industry that has developed rapidly and is still a very new industry, so training is constantly needed. The firm tends to train non transferable skills specific to the job, however a developmental course is offered; languages. This is much more transferable but still beneficial.

Please note that this sample paper on training and development is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. One thing that is noticed about Americans is that we are all different. Every one of us has our own unique characteristics. The size of the United States, the climatic areas we live in, and the ethnic mixture of people all contribute to what makes this country what it is today. However, there are a few characteristics that make up the "typical" American.

Most Americans tend to value their individuality. We think of ourselves equal to any other man or woman and we believe we are the makers of our destiny. Americans feel free to speak their minds and express their opinions openly about subjects in which they can reflect on. We tend to be direct in our communications, meaning that when we say yes we mean yes and when we say no we mean no. In a business setting Americans usually try to get right to the point of the subject they are talking about. Americans are very success oriented. We strive ahead to achieve all that we can in our personal and working lives. Whether we are rich or poor, most Americans do not feel that their success in life will be determined by what social class they were born into. Most Americans do not show too much difference or dominance to each other in public situations, however in professional settings this tends to be different.

When first meeting Americans we all seem friendly, usually this means we are pleased to meet you but in the end it may not turn into a glowing friendship. Most of the time we introduce ourselves to others by our first names and we call each other by their first names on an incident if we were to ever meet again, on a more professional level we use titles and last names. Usually when we speak with others we stand about an arms length apart and we never really have to touch one another, except for example, we shake hands when greeting someone.

We always seem to be in a hurry so we may not always have time to stop and shake hands with someone. To the majority of Americans, time is a precious commodity and we try to make the most of it. Also, we organize our schedules so that we can make the most of our day. By doing this, we seem to have so much to do and we are running from one thing to the next and not allowing ourselves to do and enjoy things that we like.

As Americans, we are all different. But in a few ways, we are all "united," so to speak. We all have our own unique individuality. Some characteristics we share with others and some we don't. Whether we are friendly on first acquaintances depends on who we are as a person and whether we are always in hurry or not depends on how much of a "busy body" we really are. But all in all, everyone has those few "typical" characteristics.

Please note that this sample paper on Americans is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. If not treated in time, it can cause swelling of the brain, which is extremely fatal.

Chickenpox is an extremely contagious virus. It easily spreads from person to person through the air of an affected person's coughing or sneezing, or by direct contact. A person develops chickenpox 10 to 1 days after having contact with someone who is infected. In addition, the infected person is contagious 1- days before the rash appears and until all the blisters have formed scabs.

A person who has chickenpox will experience irritating symptoms such as a blister-like rash that usually occur on the face, scalp, or trunk. These reddish blisters can be exceedingly itchy and sometimes even painful. An infected person may also experience a high fever, dehydration, or headache. Eventually, the person may develop pneumonia and even swelling of the brain, which could lead to death. Fortunately, there are some successful treatments and preventions for varicella.

Chickenpox can now be prevented by vaccination, which everyone is encouraged to get. However, if a person does get the disease then there are many home treatments and doctor treatments available. For example, the infected person could use Calamine lotion or take Aveeno baths to relieve the itching. They could also take non-aspirin medicine, such as acetaminophen. In addition, a doctor could also prescribe Acyclovir, which is a medicine that works against the herpes virus. However, this medication is for people who are more likely to develop a serious stage of the disease. It is also important to know that a person who has chicken pox should go into treatment if the fever last for more than four days or goes above 10 degrees F.

In "Nobody's Fool" and "The Last of the Mohicans", the Hudson Valley's presence is very prominent, though the way it is offered is very different. In Richard Russo's "Nobody's Fool", change and the dysfunctional family are very visible.

The Hudson Valley is very present in both "Nobody's Fool" and "The Last of the Mohicans". In "Nobody's Fool", the Hudson Valley does not physically change but is representative of how many communities are in the Hudson Valley and the people that make them up. You have the local diner, where all the local gossip can be obtained. You have the local watering hole where even better gossip can be obtained, and you have the local businessman, who many may detest, but who employs many of the local towns people.

In "Last of the Mohicans", the Hudson Valley is very present due to the fact that many of the events actually took place there. Due to these events the Hudson Valley changes dramatically.

In the movie "Nobody's Fool", the dysfunctional family is quite prevalent. As is in most cases, a dysfunctional family is usually a result of a dysfunctional family. Sully's parents had a volatile relationship in which he witnessed a childhood of violence and drinking by his father. As a result this seemed to effect his own reactions as an adult, leaving his wife and son and therefore creating another dysfunctional family. As a result of this his own son is having problems with his family, not only does Peter and his wife separate, they separate their two children.

Write my Essay on Comparison of Nobody's Fool an Last of The Mohicans for me

As the storyline went on, you could witness the changing of Sully. Not only did he realize his mistakes as a parent or nonparent, he realized the damage that can be done to the children involved. A significant change and an attempt to break the chain of the dysfunctional family occurred when Sully was quite persistent in telling his son to call his wife at Christmas. Sully's own demons and apprehension of "the old brick house" seemed to ease as his relationship with his son grew.

Characters and settings can change as seen in these two wonderfully selected stories. Some changes can be more obvious than others, but that does not necessarily make them less important to the storyline.
